I wholeheartedly endorse Lin Jensen for Planning Board. Lin is the right person for the job because of her experience, her dedication to Lexington, and her values. For the last decade Lin has regularly attended Planning Board meetings, gaining a detailed understanding of Lexington’s zoning bylaws. She has co-authored four amendment proposals on zoning bylaws and regulations, providing her with the knowledge to be an effective member of the Planning Board.

Her background as a financial professional gives her a data-driven and long-range approach to planning, essential at this critical time when Lexington is about to undergo a nearly 10% increase in the number of housing units, with many more in the pipeline.

Lin’s goal is for Lexington to have well-designed, human-scale housing that will create vibrant, inclusive communities without sacrificing the beauty of nature or the integrity of our neighborhoods or our historic districts. She will advocate for meeting our housing needs—for seniors, our workforce, and future generations—by promoting moderate-sized and affordable units with adequate open space. Lin has already made a positive contribution to affordability: in 2025 she with two other Town Meeting members effected an increase in the percentage of affordable housing in Special Residential Developments from 15 to 17.5%. She believes that even more can be done.

In 2023 Lin was skeptical that the MBTA zoning would produce only 400-800 units in 4-10 years. She was one of the Town Meeting members who tried to modify the bylaw that would have potentially doubled the number of housing units in Lexington. She voted against Article 34, which created the high-density housing that is being constructed now with minimal open space. In 2025 she supported the effort to bring my Citizen’s Petition, Article 2, before the Special Town Meeting to bring more gradual change to Lexington. Lin created an informational website to lay out the facts for all to see.

Lin wants to bring a more transparent process to planning, so that residents are engaged before major bylaws are proposed, not after. She will listen to community input, and fine-tune regulations based on real-world results. She will advocate for policies that make our town more inclusive, sustainable, and fiscally responsible.

I ask for your support to elect Lin Jensen to the Planning Board on March 2.  To learn more about Lin, to endorse her or donate to her campaign, visit www.linjensen.org.

Sincerely,

Carol Sacerdote
