A new women’s monument in Lexington called “Something Is Being Done” honors the significant contributions women have made to Lexington’s history from the 18th century to the present.
To celebrate the unveiling and dedication in May, Maya Salafia, a 2024 Lexington High School graduate, now a student at Berklee College of Music was invited to create a song that reflects a youthful perspective to the monument’s theme…making women visible, promoting empowerment and honoring their legacy. Maya wrote, composed, and performed “Herstory!”
Together with our local non-profit media center, a music video produced by Cheryl Meadow was created to fully complete our vision!
