Here’s the updated daily weather forecast for Lexington, MA, from Sunday, January 27 to Friday, January 31 by Meteorologist Matthew Moll of New England Weather Consulting:

This week’s weather is a rollercoaster, so be ready for all kinds of conditions. Monday will be breezy but manageable, with highs in the upper 30s. On Tuesday morning, a cold front sweeps through with quick-hitting snow squalls during the early commute—expect reduced visibility and slippery roads. Later in the day, it turns windy and much colder. Wednesday brings a clipper system with light snow, likely adding 1–3 inches. By Thursday, arctic air takes over, with biting wind chills making it feel near zero.

Monday, January 27:
Partly sunny and breezy, with a high of 37°F. Southwest winds at 10–20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph, will make it feel closer to the upper 20s. Overnight, mostly clear skies will allow temperatures to drop to around 31°F, with gusty winds persisting into the night.

Tuesday, January 28:
A strong cold front will move through during the early morning hours, between 5–8 AM, bringing intense snow squalls. These could drop a quick coating to 1 inch of snow, causing reduced visibility and slippery road conditions, especially during the morning commute. The rest of the day will feature a mix of clouds and sun with west winds at 15–25 mph, gusting up to 40 mph. Temperatures will peak near 36°F in the morning but will quickly drop during the afternoon, reaching the upper 20s by evening. Overnight lows will plummet to 18°F, with wind chills in the single digits due to strong winds. Roads may remain icy, so take caution.

Wednesday, January 29:
A fast-moving clipper system will bring periods of light snow, primarily between 9 AM and 3 PM, with accumulations of 1–3 inches expected. Roads may become slick, particularly in untreated areas. The high will reach 35°F, with cloudy skies and northwest winds at 10–15 mph. Overnight, partly cloudy skies will lead to temperatures dropping to 14°F, with wind chills near 5°F.

Thursday, January 30:
Sunny but very cold, with a high near 25°F. Northwest winds at 10–15 mph will create wind chills between 0–10°F. Overnight, clear skies will allow temperatures to dip to 16°F, with wind chills potentially below zero.

Friday, January 31:
Mostly sunny and slightly warmer, with a high near 33°F. Northwest winds at 10–15 mph will continue to produce wind chills in the teens. Overnight, clear skies will lead to a frigid low of 16°F.
