Clarke Middle School celebrated its annual Diversity Day, with representatives from England, Latvia, French Guiana, Haiti, Korea, Canada, India, Venezuela, Taiwan, Singapore, the Philippines and more.  

There were Bollywood songs, Irish Step dancing, make-your-own-dumplings for Lunar New Year. Staff members and caregivers decorated tables with food, artifacts, games, crafts and decorations representing different countries.  

“We always can talk about diversity, and we can teach so many things about diversity, which we do everyday in our classes here at Clarke. However, nothing matches the impact of students sharing with each other and embracing each other’s culture,” said Clarke principal Dane Despres. “We know that students listen to each other more than they listen to the adults! That is the spirit of this wonderful event, which we will continue going forward.”
