DESCRIPTION:Join Church of Our Redeemer for Advent!  In addition to our weekly worship services at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings\, we have special seasonal events to help us prepare to celebrate Christmas.  These include: an Advent wreath-making event after our 9:30 service on Sunday Nov. 30th\, a service of Lessons & Carols on Sunday Dec. 7th\, cookie decorating and carols after our 9:30 am worship service on Dec. 14th.  In addition\, we will have a St. Nick’s Feastday dinner party on Tuesday Dec. 9th from 5:00 – 6:30 pm and a Healing Worship Service on Monday Dec. 15th at 7:30 pm.  Join us for one or all of these worship services and events as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas Day!  Church of Our Redeemer\, the Episcopal Church in Lexington is at 6 Meriam Street.  To learn more\, visit us at www.OurRedeemerLexington.org.

DESCRIPTION:Alongside the town’s Tea Burning Reenactment activities this weekend\, Lexington Alarm! is hosting a Reverse Tea Party from 12 noon to 2:30 p.m. Saturday\, Dec. 13 at Emery Park (Depot Square) to benefit local food banks.  \nThe Virtual Food Drive will symbolically “Refill the Chests” of tea dumped by the colonists in 1773. We will be collecting funds for the Lexington Food Pantry\, Food Link\, and Minuteman Senior Services.

DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Lexington’s local resistance history with a Reverse Tea Party to help alleviate the growing food insecurity in our local communities. During the town’s annual reenactment of the historic Dec. 13\, 1773 Tea Burning\, we will be in Depot Square filling the chests of three local organizations supporting those whose hunger has been increased by federal cutbacks\, symbolically reversing the 1773 emptying of English tea chests into Boston’s Harbor. All are welcome!

DESCRIPTION:On December 13\, 1773\, three days before the Boston Tea Party\, the Lexington Town Meeting concluded a multi-day debate with a resolution to stop purchasing or drinking imported British tea. The crowd spilled out onto the common behind the meeting house and made a bonfire\, throwing the entire town’s supply of tea into it.\n\nEach year\, we reenact this occasion with a day of tea history! Join us for fun\, interactive activities to learn more about why tea was so important to the Revolution. Meet with the Lexington residents of 1773 to hear their side of the story\, find out where tea comes from\, and end the day by gathering around the fire and burning the tea!\n\nMore information coming soon!

The performance features First Parish Resident Artists Yunona Tabala (soprano) and Julia Jaffe (mezzo-soprano)\, in collaboration with James Lorusso (piano). This sparkling program showcases music by the beloved Bel Canto legend Gioachino Rossini and his newly rediscovered contemporary Carolina Uccelli — a woman once hailed as a “born opera composer\,” whose voice history nearly silenced. The evening will also include engaging commentary offering fascinating insights into the lives and careers of these remarkable composers\, presented by Noam Shoresh.
