SUMMARY:The Moth Ball
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special kind of ball this September\, but don’t worry about bringing your dancing shoes! Once the sun goes down\, bugs will be the ones showing off their moves. During this nature walk hosted by both the Town of Lexington Conservation Division and CLC\, and with special guest Jace Porter of the Global Entomology Coalition\, we will get up close and personal with the night time residents of our local conservation areas. We will be using a large sheet illuminated with ultraviolet light to attract all manner of fascinating critters – moths\, beetles\, flies\, spiders\, stick insects\, or true bugs are just some of the things we might see. Meet at the meadowy picnic table area of Willard’s Woods. Follow the trail westward from the parking lot on North Street opposite 44 North Street. \nRegistration required\, limited to 15 participants – see CLC web site for registration link (https://clclex.org/events/)\nRain date: Friday September 26\, 6:30-9:30 PM

SUMMARY:"In The Footsteps of the American Revolutionary War" Artist Talk with Steven Edson
DESCRIPTION:The 250th anniversary of the American Revolution has prompted locals to revisit and reconsider our town landmarks. Bare fields and unassuming streetcorners hold stories that only the most ardent history lovers remember\, some marked with worn signs and others nearly lost to time. Others teem with tour guides and attract visitors from near and far. Steven Edson’s photography of these modern Revolutionary locations\, currently on display at Munroe Tavern\, urges the public to reconsider the spaces they drive by and inhabit every day. Join the artist for a discussion of this project\, our relationship with the historical landscape around us\, and further images from this collection.\n\nDoors will open at 6:30 for exhibit viewing and an artist meet and greet.\n\n$10 members\, $15 nonmembers\n\nAbout the Artist:\nSteven Edson started photographing in the early 1970s\, shooting primarily black and white documentary street photography. After graduating with a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design\, he became a successful and award-winning freelance photographer working on project-based client international projects in editorial\, education\, corporate design\, and advertising campaigns. He currently shows his fine art images in solo and national group shows and sells his images to both corporate collections and personal collectors.
