SUMMARY:2025 Fall Native Plant Sale
DESCRIPTION:Sept. 12: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. \nSept. 13: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. \nWe welcome you to our 2025 Fall Plant Sale! Similar to our previous two sales\, we will have wildflowers\, shrubs\, grasses\, and more. All plant material comes as plugs. We also have seeds to buy and supplies! \nAll of our native plant varieties are straight species\, meaning that no cultivars will be sold. It has been found that cultivars often do not have the same benefits to wildlife that straight species do. Our focus on native species will help our native pollinators\, increase biodiversity\, and conserve our native plants and animals—among other benefits. \nWe will not be selling any non-native bulbs. We hope those of you who are traditional gardeners will buy our native plants\, as they can be just as gorgeous. Unlike tulips\, daffodils\, and other non-native ornamentals\, native plants provide food\, shelter and nesting material for local pollinators\, birds and other wildlife. Some natives that we are providing are also great alternatives to non-native Forsythia\, ornamental grasses\, cultivated roses\, invasive Multiflora Rose\, invasive Japanese Knotweed\, invasive Garlic Mustard and cultivated Clematis. If you would like more information about why native plants are important\, please check out our Resources page under “Plants” and “Pollinators.” \nOur Fall Sale page can be found under the 2025 Fall Native Plant Sale: https://middlesexconservationdistrict.org/ \nIf you are curious to learn about the plants native to Massachusetts and the Northeast\, please click here. This Google sheet is from Massachusetts Pollinator Network’s website\, created by Amy Meltzer and Heidi Dollard\, and provides a comprehensive list of plants\, blooming period\, sunlight\, moisture and more! \nThere will be a first-come\, first-served cash sale on non-cold-germination seeds at the pickup site. \nThe ordering deadline is Sept. 5. We have a limited supply of some trees\, seeds and garden supplies. Order forms will be mailed upon request. Order forms can be found here. \nOrdering online is the fastest way to order. Please avoid disappointment and order early. Please check online to see if what you would like is in stock or sold out. We hope you will buy a variety of plants to beautify and naturalize your garden or landscape design! \nWant to help volunteer with us and pack orders? We invite you to help out on our prep and sale days\, Sept. 10 through 13\, at Minuteman High School. We need at least 10 volunteers each day. Please email admin@middlesexconservationdistrict.org if you would like to join or click the button below. \nWant to help support Middlesex Conservation District’s work? If you are interested\, you can either donate with your purchase of plants and/or supplies\, click the link below\, or click “Donate” at the top of the page. \nThis event is free to enter and open to the public. Please come and buy some native plants! \nInformation about the Middlesex Conservation District: We are a not-for-profit\, quasi-state government organization. MCD is one of more than 3\,000 conservation Districts throughout the United States. Conservation Districts were founded based on the philosophy that local people are best positioned to assess and identify local conservation problems and develop effective solutions\, drawing on both the technical and financial resources available from larger agencies when appropriate and/or necessary to assist their landowners in meeting these goals. Our mission is to support the health of the atmosphere\, soil\, water\, plant\, and animal life through planning\, education and collaboration by identifying and addressing the natural resource needs and conservation goals of the people of the county through partnerships with landowners (municipal\, non-profit\, commercial and residential)\, and state and federal government.
